You are not required to talk to an assessor about your new value.
Residents can sign up for a telephone open book from the moment a notice is received until 5 business days before the Board of Review. An assessor will then call the owner at the appointment time. They can also call 920-749-8098 or email info@accurateassessor.com

BOARD OF REVIEW
Do not wait until Board of Review to talk with an assessor. You have the opportunity to discuss your opinion of value prior to filing a Form of Objection with the Clerk.
If you cannot come to an agreement of value, a written/oral intent to object must be filed with the Clerk at least 48 hours prior to the Board of Review
A PA-115A form with your opinion of value must be filed with the Clerk in order to attend the Board of Review. Clerk Candee Christen 608-873-6677

Board of Review functions like court and is required to evaluate evidence based on facts. You or your representative must provide factual evidence that your property is inequitably assessed. The burden of proof is solely on the taxpayer. The assessor’s value is presumed correct by State Law until proven otherwise.

2025 Preliminary Assessment Roll
EXEMPT PROPERTY
All real property and business personal property is assessable in the State of Wisconsin unless specifically exempted by state law (Section 70.11, Statutes).
PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION REQUEST
Property owners seeking an exemption from property taxes must file a Property Tax Exemption Request (Form PR-230)
PROPERTY EXEMPTION REPORT
All owners of exempt property in the City of Stoughton must file a Tax Exemption Report (Form PC-220) or a Multi-Parcel Tax Exemption Report (Form PC-220A) during each even-numbered year. This form should be completed by the property owner or representative and filed with City Clerk by March 31.
REPORT CHANGES
Exempt property owners are required to report any changes in the ownership or use of the property to the City Assessor when the change occurs.
